This week at the library we got in some new manga! So of course I checked them out first so I could read them (no one had them on hold so I wasn’t stealing them from anyone!). The first book that I read this week was A Silent Voice, #4. This is – obviously – the fourth book in this series which is about Shoya and Shoko who used to be elementary school classmates. While they were classmates, Shoyo was a horrible bully to Shoko and now he is trying to make up for that by becoming friends with her. The first volume of this was very hard for me to read. The bullying depicted is ROUGH to say the least. I would recommend this series but just be cautious about that first volume.
The next two books that I read were My Love Story volumes four and five. This is such a cute and pure series all about Takeo Goda and his lovely girlfriend Yamato. Takeo is not usually someone that you would think of as the MC in a love story; he’s a giant! He also looks very imposing most of the time. Girls usually flock to his BFF Sunakawa, not to him. BUT then he meets and falls in love with Yamato. I really enjoyed volumes four and five! They were super cute and I can’t wait until we get the next volume in at the library.
Next up was Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, volume 1! I have watched part of this anime and I really loved it so I decided to give the manga a try too and it is so good! I really loved it just as much as the anime. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the volume was realllllly short. It only took about twenty minutes to read the whole thing. That being said, I’m really looking forward to reading more of this series.
I’ve got three more books that I really loved this week and they are all romances! The first one is called Wotakoi: Love is hard for Otaku (volume 3). This is a really great manga about two couples that work together in an office environment and they are all otakus! I absolutely LOVE this series and I’m anxiously waiting for the next volume (write faster Fujita!!!!). This is a great series if you are really passionate about something but tend to hide it because you don’t think people will understand your passion. You will hardcore relate to this book if that’s you! The next one I actually just finished today and it is called Go For It Nakamura! This is just a cute little one shot that is about Nakamura trying to get up the courage to talk to his super cute classmate, Hirose. It’s an adorable little BL that can be read really quickly. My only complaint is that it’s a one-shot! I want more! The last book that I read is the second volume of My Brother’s Husband. If you have been here for awhile then you know how much I was looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint! I most definitely cried while reading this one but it was SO GOOD. I hate that it’s over after only two volumes, I need more!!!
That is it for this post! Leave a comment below and let me know if you’ve read any of these manga, I would love to hear from you! Or come say hi on Twitter!
