This week we got some really great new books in and they are some of my favorite genre, Juvenile Graphic Novels! To start off with We got in Cucumber Quest #4: The Flower Kingdom by Gigi D.G. and EndGames by Ru Xu. I’ve read all of the Cucumber Quest books so I’ve been WAITING for us to get the next one and I was so excited when it came in! This was a really great volume that takes place in the Flower Kingdom and the Big Bad in this book is the Rosemaster. The Rosemaster is formerly known as the Thornmaster and mentions to a character that they may know her by her former name (Thornmaster) and I’m curious if you guys think that she is a trans character? The name Thornmaster is never used again and the character that uses that name apologizes after Rosemaster tells her about the name change. To me Thornmaster sounds masculine and Rosemaster sounds feminine but I may just be reading to much into it. I couldn’t find any other mention of this in any reviews that I read over on Goodreads so I can’t really tell. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

The next book that I read is EndGames (NewsPrints #2) by Ru Xu. I really, really loved the first book and have been waiting (not) patiently for the second volume! This series is all about Blue, the first girl newspaper boy. The first volume deals mostly with her hiding that she is a girl while also trying to deal with a few other things (no spoilers!). This second volume picks up right where the first one left off, with Blue and all her friends new and old. I’m really loving this volume so far and I can’t wait to see where it goes! I’m a little over halfway through right now. I’ll let you all know how I liked the whole thing overall as soon as I’m finished!

Next we got in a great little book called Click by Kayla Miller. This book is about Olive who seems to “click” with everyone in her school. She has multiple groups of friends so she always has someone to talk to or sit with at lunch! However, when the school talent show comes up and no one asks Olive to be in their group she wonders how much her friends really care about her. This is a great book about finding yourself! I really loved this one and the artwork is super cute!

The last book that I read was Onibi: Diary of Yokai Ghost Hunter by Cécile Brun and Olivier Pichard. First let me say, this book is GORGEOUS. The artwork is fantastic! It’s a combo travel journal and graphic novel about a couple traveling around Japan trying to find Yokai and photographing them. I absolutely adored this book and I will definitely be adding this to my personal collection at some point.

There are a few more books that we have gotten in but I haven’t had a chance to read them yet. But they are The Nameless City by Faith Erin Hicks and Supers by Frederic Maupome & Dawid. I’ll try and read those two soon and get some info up on them for you guys. Let me know below what you guys think of these new books! Or come say hi on Twitter!
