I don’t really like to set resolutions for the year because I never stick to them. I will be setting some goals for myself that I’d like to try and accomplish in the next few months.

The first goal is to continue to exercise. I have a few things wrong with my heart, as well as vertigo. I started to do some light weightlifting at the end of last year, and I’d like to continue with that. It’s really helped the vertigo, and it’s good for my heart. I’d like to add in some yoga as well. I used to do yoga and really liked it, so I think it’ll be fun to add back in.
I did set a reading goal for the year at 200 books. Last year, I read 484, so 200 will definitely be doable. I also wanted to add a page count goal this year. I want to read one hundred thousand pages. I have no idea how many books that is on average, but I think it’s just a fun goal to try and reach.
I also would like to try and read more classics. That’s something that I try to do every year and don’t usually get that many in. I just find them so boring. Please give me recommendations for interesting classics. Last year, I only read three, so I would like to at least read five this year.
I’m also doing a few reading challenges. I’m doing the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge, the Reading Glasses Podcast book challenge, the Popsugar Reading Challenge, and HRCYED (The Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do). I’ve already made a few posts about HRCYED because it started in July of last year (I think it was July, it might have been June), so I’ve already completed a few of those prompts. I’ll post throughout the year on how I’m doing on the other challenges.

I want to journal more. I have a bunch of journals that I need to use before I get more, and I really do like to journal. I just need to make the time to do it. I don’t think trying to do it every day is attainable, so I’m going to shoot for three times a week. We’ll see how that goes, and then maybe I can work up to every day.

I would also like to establish a better morning routine. Right now, I just get up, get dressed, pack my lunch, and then run out the door. I was getting up around 6:30 am, working out, showering, and then getting ready for work. I would like to get back in the swing of that and also add in some journaling. I think doing a morning journaling session would help me get to work feeling more awake and productive. We’ll see.

Those are the things that I want to try and accomplish this year! What are some goals or resolutions that you’re setting for the new year?
