November Round-Up!

(Sorry, this is so late! I got very sick with the flu and wasn’t able to do much, but I’m better now!)

Hi guys! Sorry it’s been a little bit. Classes really ramped up but I’m done for the semester now so I have some more free time to read and write. Today I want to talk about some of the books I read in November. I read a total of 31 books in November and there’s a few that I want to talk about.

The first book that I’d like to talk about is a graphic novel memoir by George Takei called It Rhymes With Takei. This book follows all of George Takei’s life from growing up in California, to being imprisoned in an internment camp at the age of five, to coming out at 68.

As a Star Trek fan, I knew a little bit about Takei but this book really shows how amazing he really is. I never knew about all of the political things that he did throughout his life. I really enjoyed getting to see that side of him in this book. He seems like he is always busy, which to me sounds exhausting, but maybe he was keeping busy to not have to dwell on coming out.

Next up is another graphic novel, this one is called Insectopolis by Peter Kuper. This graphic novel is a history of bugs. It is beautifully drawn and I learned quite a bit about out creepy crawly friends. If there is someone in your life that is a bug freak, this would be a great gift for them.

Lastly, I want to talk about a series that I started in November. I read the first three books in the series (1,000+ pages) in November (I’m currently on book 5 and waiting on the ARC for book 6). This is the Rejected Wolf Pack series by Traci Lovelot. I read Protected by Outcasts, Marked for the Pack, and Untamed Shifters. This all started when I read a novella called Snowed in with Shifters in October and loved it. All of these books are why choose with lots of group scenes so if that’s not something that you’re into, these might not be for you. That being said. I love all the characters and the story so you might still like them anyway.

Those are all the books that I’d like to talk about from November. I’m going to be working on my end of the year post with all my favorite books from the year. It’s always so hard to decide which ones are my favorite, but I’ll do my best! What are some of your favorite books from this year?
