I’m back with another Advanced Reader Copy for you guys! This time, it is a graphic novel from one of my favorite authors, Nnedi Okorafor, called The Space Cat. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t come out until August, sorry for the early review. I just loved this one so much, I couldn’t wait to talk about it.
In this graphic novel, we follow Pumpernickel Pickle Periwinkle Chukwu Okorafor, also known as Periwinkle. He is a special cat because he is also a space cat. He lives with his owner Nnedi but during the night he is a space-exploring cat. He takes off in his spaceship, built from things he finds, and races with another orange space cat. Eventually, he moves with his owners to a new exciting place where he befriends other cats.
I don’t want to give away most of the plot so I’m going to stop there. You guys will have to read it when it comes out if you want to know the rest of the story.
I really loved this book. I’ve read a lot of Nnedi Okorafor’s books and I’m excited that she’s venturing into graphic novels. If you want to read any of her books I would recommend starting with her Binti trilogy. They are some of my favorites of hers. Her Akata Witch series is fantastic as well.
